Where is this place? What is it about? Is it a cult? Are you changing religions? The most asked questions I got this past weeks.
Well, I was living at Palazzo Pitti, the holistic place for healthy living, I think that is the correct slogan, if not I just made a really good one. Anyways, Palazzo Pitti is a house located in Rathenow, (Rathenow is a small city/village about 50 min away from Berlin), and by a house I mean a 4-store house with 3 kitchens, a huge garden, 3 toilets, 1 shower and plenty of rooms including the most famous of all, “the yoga room”.

Rathenow December – Rathenow January
But that is only the physical Palazzo Pitti. For me, was way more. It was the first time I lit a fire, and have to say very proudly that I became a fire master; it was also the first time I saw snow, had a snow fight and tried to build a snowman. While being there was the first time I got a letter, ate a kaki and learnt how to bake bread from scratch, prepare hummus, oatmeal milk and curry with coconut milk.

First snowing and snow experiences
However, what made this experience fulfilling were the people. There I met some of the most amazing persons you could ever find and all of them in one way or another taught me something.
The first person I met and who got me into P.P was Maria, an incredible graphic designer from Spain. Her designing has balance, beauty and uniqueness. There was also Mike and Jack, whom I always had to asked twice what they were saying, (because of their awful accent not my little understanding, jaja) and has this amazing talents, Jack in writing and Mike in editing.
There was also Bence who has some of the most beautiful drawings I’ve ever seen, including the face for the PP postcard. Rich, is this lovely blonde guy with the biggest heart and groovy moves. In charge of the building site and weekend’s Italian dinners, is Michele. A Sicilian man who was with me at the Palazzo for the whole 7 weeks and who has this incredible common sense to actually find the way to fix and do everything in the simplest way.

At one moment I shared room with my dear and young Sabine, who was the best team for 2 weeks and I have to say that I actually miss the sound of her learning how to play the guitar. I also shared room with Gosia and Paulina from Poland. If you are looking for someone to play music with, they are the ones, besides they have candies and delicious homemade jam. Annegrete is a german ex-swimmer so passionate for everything she does, she has this peaceful voice that would give you the best meditation ever. Besides, she cooks sooooo goooood! And healthy! While being there, I was lucky enough to meet Claudio and Coco, they play the guitar in ways you can’t imagine, you can feel what they feel, you can go somewhere else by just listening to their music.
The second Australian I spent time with was Alan, and the two main words I can say about him are ‘thank you’. He is so kind, polite and will always be there to help you and give you the deepest morning hug. And Tamara, my partner in crime and whom everyday made me laugh literally out loud. She has this strong sense of responsibility and whatever she does; she does it in the best way possible. She is an amazing friend.
As you’ve read, I was lucky enough to meet this entire people in just one place. I will be forever thankful to Sebastian and Amrit for letting me share the working days, the cold nights, the laughs, the delicious meals, the smiles and tears at Palazzo Pitti, for introducing me to Kundalini yoga, mantras and meditations which allow me to feel and live in a better and happier way every day. Thank you for the trust and the support. Thank you for one of the best experiences of my life. Palazzo Pitti stays in my heart forever and until we meet again, which I am sure will be soon.
